The Speaker One Sheet: 4 of the Biggest Lies

If professional speaking is a goal of yours, your Speaker One Sheet is one of your most important marketing tools to have. However, there are still some lingering misconceptions about them!

Let’s clear up some of the biggest ones…

1. IT NEEDS TO BE ONE SHEET
It does NOT need to be one sheet! Many speaker one sheets are two sheets; it depends on what you are including on them. You don’t have to limit yourself because of the name of it.

2. THERE’S NO POINT IN NEW SPEAKERS HAVING ONE
New speakers should have one! I know you’re probably thinking – but I’m just starting out and really don’t have anything substantial to include. Nope! You just don’t know how to go about it. There are ways that you can create a quality one sheet without having much professional speaker experience yet.

3. FORMAT DOESN’T MATTER AS LONG AS YOU HAVE WHAT’S NEEDED
Format DOES matter. I don’t care how much great content you have to include, the way the information is laid out can repel or attract event planners.

4. IT’S ONLY NEEDED FOR SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
There are MULTIPLE reasons to use a speaker one sheet besides speaking engagements. You can put them on your event booth table to take, include them in emails to prospects, place them on the chairs of event attendees as a takeaway, and so much more. Don’t sleep on the value of one sheets!
