It’s a new year and you may be thinking about what resources you need that will help you accomplish your goals. If you’ve been telling yourself year after year that you need to improve your public speaking and presentation skills, and this year has to be different – you may consider working with a public speaking coach. Before you make your decision, these are three good questions to ask yourself:
1️⃣ Do you want to learn the art of speechcraft, or do you want someone to write the speech for you? A public speaking coach will take you through the steps such as coming up with your message, creating the content, structuring it, delivery, managing nerves, engaging the audience, presenting virtually, practicing etc. A good speech writer will do their research and produce a great speech for you, and may rehearse with the speaker if required. With a speech coach, you learn the process so you know how to do it for yourself going forward. What do you REALLY want?
2️⃣ If you don’t work with a coach, what will it cost you? Future speaking opportunities, credibility, moving up the corporate ladder, money, your brand awareness – just a few examples. Can you afford to keep going the way you’re going, based on the goals you have for yourself? Is what you’re currently doing working?
3️⃣ Besides the coach having the skills to get you where you want to be, are there any other things you’d prefer about them? Some women feel more comfortable working with a woman, you may want someone who shares your religious beliefs, you may want a coach who focuses on speech contest competitors etc. There may be other aspects that matter to you about that coach.
If you’re tired of struggling with your speaking skills and want to be a confident, clear, and engaging speaker – I’m accepting new clients. I work with Christian women experts who are aspiring or emerging speakers. They are ready to go full out in their calling, and impact the people they were put here to speak to!

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
